As a student artist, I am honoured by my instructors wisdom, grace, and gentle guidance. Finding my own style and place among the great works and noise is both daunting and exciting. Building up my body of work I feel like I am learning to leap.
The construction of a device has always fascinated me. As a child I took my toys apart and occasionally I would reassemble them (not always correctly!). Now, as a Journeyman Millwright, I've learned how to focus and apply that curiosity and ambition. Through concept, design, and interpretation I am able to fabricate, install, and maintain large industrial machinery. This technical skill has served me well through all aspects of my trade as well as in my artistic practice.
